Avoid paying tolls
When approaching a toll booth, if there is a car in front of ready to pay, nudge the back of it to make it smash the barrier. You can then go past the toll booth without paying and attaining a wanted level.

Avoid paying tolls
When approaching a toll booth, if there is a car in front of ready to pay, nudge the back of it to make it smash the barrier. You can then go past the toll booth without paying and attaining a wanted level.
Get any vehicle from any mission
During transport missions, there will be some cars, boats, or planes that can only be used in that mission. Just kill the person that is with you in the vehicle and it will be yours to keep.
Niko and Johnny references
At the start of the game, as Luis is shown walking down the streets of Liberty City, you will see Niko in a vehicle after the heist. You will also see Johnny ride off on his motorcycle.

Avoid toll booths
Use any emergency vehicle, turn on the sirens, and drive (speed does not matter). The booth attendant will open the gate and you will have saved $5.
Calling for backup
Steal a police car and any time you are in trouble press L1 while your car is stationary. Select "Call For Backup" and within minutes you will have to cruisers full of police who will fight on your side unless you shoot someone.
Easy money
Go to an ATM, then cause a traffic jam to the area. Wait for someone to take money from the ATM, then kill him or her. Make sure to block any nearby roads so the ambulance cannot get to the murdered victim. Take the money they dropped on the ground. Then, run a short distance away, and go back. The money should have respawned on the ground. You can repeat this as many times as desired. You can also kill more people taking their money from the ATM to increase the amount of money that respawns.
Bowling: Easy strikes
Select the first lane (all the way to the left). Take two full steps to the left. Hold Right Analog-stick Down for about a half second, then press Right Analog-stick Up. Do not add any aftertouch to the throw.
Regaining health during missions
You can leave the mission area and go to a Cluckin' Bell, hotdog stand, etc, and eat food to replenish your health if you are low and cannot find a health pack. This works effectively on missions where there Are no health packs in sight. Note: You can also take a taxi to those locations during missions.
Easy headshots
It is sometimes difficult to get headshots, which do count in this game. With some practice, the following is an easy way to always get them. Press [Auto-Aim] then use the Right Analog-stick to move the auto-aim target around your victim's body. Barely move the Right Analog-stick as you are shooting. This puts bullets in the chest and head, and results in an easy instant kill.
Current music information
Dial ZIT-555-0100 on your cellphone to get a text message listing the title and artist of the music currently playing.
Prank phone calls
Take note of phone numbers on graffiti or ads on buildings on in the subway. Call those numbers on Niko's cellphone to make a prank phone call.
Getting away from the police
When running away from the cops, you will have a circular area in which they look for you. However, if you get out and another cop sees you, it changes. To use this to your advantage, get barely out of that circle which you will see on your radar. Just sit there for about five seconds instead of flooring past it.
$100 for all ringtones and themes
After acquiring the phone from Playboy X, go to the nearest Internet cafe. Buy all of the ringtones and themes from the ringtones site. Log out of the computer and you will notice that you only paid $100 for all ringtones and themes.
Keeping more cars
At the start of the game it would appear that you can only save two cars parked in the "Residents Parking Only" parking spaces in front of your safe house. However if you can find other "Residents Parking Only" places around the city, you can also save cars there even if you do not have a safe house at those locations yet.
Roadside assistance
If your vehicle breaks down and cannot start, call 911. Your engine should start again.
Staying on trucks
Once you jump on a truck keep tapping the [Jump] and Niko will stay on. Note this does not work all the time, and if he falls he loses a small amount of health.
Fast taxi travel
To avoid wasting time driving all the way across the city, call a taxi. They will take you to your destination for your mission, stores, safehouses, or even a waypoint marker. You can skip through the taxi ride, allowing you to travel across the entire city in about ten seconds. This can also be done during missions.
Cheat The Guys At The Toll Booth
If you happen to be riding a bike before you come up to the toll booth, aim towards the gap in the middle. It leads right behind the 2 guys in the booths, so you won't be seen and you've saved yourself $5! Hooray for the cheapskates!
Swim under city
Go to the north part of the map, just northwest of Butterfly Street in Bohan. Once there, get down to the outskirts of the land and walk towards the corner between the brick wall and the cliff. You can walk through the invisible wall. Lookup towards the city to see the city from below. You can also continue onwards and swim under the city.
Launch up stairs
When walking or running up stairs, jump at the first step to skip or sometimes launch yourself up the stairs.
Dating
You can date people from the in-game Internet. When looking at their profile click "Date". You then have to wait a few in-game days for a negative or positive reply via email. If your date accepts, reply to their email and meet them.
Police database
Use a computer at a TW@ Internet Cafe to go to the Liberty City Police Department site at "www.libertycitypolice.com". Click the "Database" tab at the bottom of the home page to get information on all characters, including Roman and Niko.
Frozen system
If your PlayStation3 freezes when trying to play the game, try the following to fix the problem. Sign out of PlayStation Network either by canceling the sign in process before it can be completed under the Network option on the Cross Media Bar, or going to "Settings", then "Network Settings", then "Internet Connection" and disabling your current connection.

Funny GPS
Steal a luxury car with a GPS with a female voice. She sometimes makes the "bing bong" notification sound herself while giving directions. For example, "At 100 yards, turn left." At the junction, she would say "bing bong" instead of an actual beep.
Mid-air cars
When in a helicopter, preferably the police one, enable a code to spawn a car. The car will either float in the air motionless, fall at high speeds, or hit your rotor and spin off.
No helmet on motorcycle
Use the following trick to ride a motorcycle without Niko wearing a helmet. Tap the Triangle at any point during the animation where he puts the helmet on, but before the helmet actually appears. Doing this cancels the animation and Niko will not wear his helmet. If you wait too long and press that button after the helmet has appeared in Niko's hand it will still cancel the animation, but the helmet will immediately appear on Niko's head.
Easy 360s
Gain some speed in a car and hold [Handbrake] until you have completed a full 180. Just before you complete the 180, release [Handbrake] and hold [Brake], which will spin you the next 180 degrees. Obviously you will end up facing the direction you were before the attempt. However, some vehicles cannot do this. Also with some vehicles holding [Brake] will spin you back the way you came while using the handbrake, resulting in back-to-back 180s.
Calling emergency vehicles
Dial "911" on your cellphone. You will reach a voice menu that will allow you to call the police by dialing "1", an ambulance by dialing "2", or a fire truck by dialing "3". Select the vehicle of your choice and wait for them to arrive. The will stop and look around for the emergency, allowing you to easily steal their vehicle.
Get inside the Alderny Correctional Facility
Steal a helicopter, and fly over the top of the prison. Land on the basketball courts to avoid getting a wanted level. After entering the prison you can see prisoners talking with each other, eating on the benches, a crazy prisoner, and correctional officers on patrol.
Ratman
Walk in the darkest parts of the subway and you might find someone called "Ratman". When you get close to him he will say said he is Ratman but will then run very fast down the subway. You will not be able to catch up with him.
Karate pedestrian
At the bottom area of Broker is a beach. Continue to the edge nearest to Algonquin to see a pedestrian practicing karate.
Holland Nights: Easy escape path
As you are going up the stairs to chase Clarence, you will see a green health kit. Do not take it. Continue after Clarence and follow the advice of McCleary about not using your weapon until you are on the second floor; otherwise, Clarence will just get into a vehicle and leave. If you wait until you are on the second floor, he will climb to the roof. After you have chosen the Clarence's fate, you automatically have a three star wanted level regardless of what you selected. You must battle your way out. Because you are going down, you have a distinct disadvantage in cover and will take lots of damage. To give yourself an edge, at the start of the mission park a fast car on the street near the opening in the gate. Do not pull up to the gate. Use the stairs to your right to give chase. Once you have gotten to the roof and chosen his fate, descend to the level with the first aid kit (green box). Because you left it there on your way up, you will know what level you are on and can power up. Go to the side of the building where your car is parked and jump over the railing. Upon landing, you will not lose much health. Sprint to your car and get away from the cops. If done correctly, you should not take a single bullet from police. The health pack is a requirement to survive the fall.
Zombie costume
In ranked online multi-player mode, either reach rank 2 or kill a Rockstar employee. Bring up the cellphone menu, select "Multiplayer", then scroll down to "Player model" and select it. Press L1 to access a costume that turns you into a zombie wearing just Rockstar underwear.
Point Break
Play Packie's mission "Three Leaf Clover". While Michael is watching the hostages, one of the men on the floor turns to a man next to him and lets him know that he is a member of a gun club and when the time is right they will fight back. When Michael is distracted, the man stands up, shoots Michael, then in turn is killed by Packie and his brother. This is a reference to the bank heist in the movie Point Break.
Getting tossed by friend
Invite a friend to hang out with you. Gently nudge him with your car, enough to knock him over but not enough to hurt him. After a few times, he will open the car door and throw you out.
Bumping into an officer
When you see a cop on the sidewalk while out in the city, you can push past him like any other pedestrian while walking. However, if you continue to push and pester a cop, even if you do not have a weapon or throw a punch, he will attempt to arrest you.
Desert Eagle
To get the Desert Eagle before you can buy it, kill the gun salesman in Broker that has it equipped and take it from him. Note: Doing this will prevent you from making any future purchases at this location. This will also cause bodyguards with shotguns to chase after you.
M-4 assault rifle
Go to the Easton area on Algonquin. At the Grand Easton Terminal, go up the stairs in front. Keep going around that floor until you see a small pond. Move past it until you see a turn going left. Go to the left to get in between a tall building and a smaller one. At the end of the passageway is a dead end. Turn and you will see a glowing orange garbage can. Behind it is an M-4 assault rifle.
Shotgun
You can get the good shotgun early in the game by simply going to the strip club. On the way out, there is a manager's office that you can enter. There is a large Remington shotgun on the floor you can take.
Sex toys
Pink "vibrators" can be found all through Liberty City. A good place to look would be in the warehouse where the final mission takes place. Search in the little bundles of trash on the ground on the inside of the warehouse. They can be found elsewhere, but this is a good place to look as it is also the starting location of Party mode.

Date SOBOHOE on LoveMeet which can be accessed on any in-game computer. If she says yes, date her until you get lucky. The day after, she will call you and tell you that whenever you need health, all you need to do is call her, seeing she is a nurse, and your health will increase.
Easy Police Car
To easily get a car with a police computer within it, call 911 on your cell phone and select 1, shortly after the operator picks up. It will put you through to the LCPD. Wait until the conversation ends and wait. Police will arrive shortly. The police officer riding as the passenger will get out to inspect the area. While this is happening, pull the driver from the police car and take off. Taking them by surprise will allow you enough time to escape the wanted circle before back-up arrives.
Another easy way to gain access to a car with a police computer is to spawn an FIB Buffalo which is activated by dialing 227-555-0100 into your in-game cell phone. Getting a police car this way will allow you to access a computer without raising your wanted level.
This cheat works great if you're working towards your Most Wanted and Small Crimes award.
Easy Money
Throughout Liberty City, you can sometimes find Securicars. These are green and white coloured vans which transports money to the Bank of liberty City. You are most likely to find one at Acter Industrail Park on Muskteer Avenue. If you see one, get your RPG and blow up the van. all the money which was inside the van will be now on the floor.
Maverick Helicopter
Go to Big Horn Drive in Westdyke. On one side of the road, there 3 massive houses. Go to the backgarden of the middle house, and you will find that there is a Maverick Helicopter there. There is also a Sanchez parked there.
Peform extreme stunts
Get your phone and start the Sixaxis Tutorial. when it starts, end the tutorial. Now you will be in front of Francis International Airport. Do not move from the place you are! If you look behind you, there is a container which says :'' Welcome to Francis International Airport.'' Next to the container, there is a huge pole which has a curved shape. Get a motorbike, and drive against this pole, if you drive fast enough again it, you will be able to perform a backflip.
You can also perform other extreme stunts.

When you do all 10 delivery missions for Little Jacob, you will get a Rastah Color Huntley SUV. However, after you done the 10 missions, and you lose the Rastah Color Huntley SUV, there is still a way you can get it. Go to Beechwoodcity where Homebrew cafe and 8Ball is. Look around Tutelo Avenue and the surrounding streets and you are almost gauranteed to find one.

Special ability (Chopper Ride): Call Brucie, and he will fly his helicopter to you. This allows you to fast travel to various portions of the city.

Special ability (Health Boost): Restores Niko's health over the phone. She will call Niko every chance she gets.
Dwayne
Method: Take him to strip clubs, eating, drinking, shows, and bowling to reach 60% friendship.
Special ability (Extra Help): Call Dwayne to have a car full of gang members follow you.
Kiki (screen name "LawChick")
Method: Date LawChick via "www.love-meet.net" through the in-game internet. Take her out a few times to reach 75% friendship. When dropping her off, select the "Try your luck" option. Afterwards, she will call you and say she can clear the feds.
Special ability (Remove Up to 3 Wanted Stars): Call her on your cell phone, and select "Clear wanted levels".
Little Jacob
Method: Take him to darts, shows, pool, drinking, eating, and strip clubs to reach 60% friendship.
Special ability (Discount Guns): Call Little Jacob, and he will drive out a car full of guns for you to buy.
Packie
Method: Take him to strip clubs, shows, darts, drinking, bowling, pool to reach 75% friendship.
Special ability (Boom?): Call Packie, and he will make a car bomb for you.
Roman
Method: Take him to bowling, darts, drinking, eating, pool, shows, and the strip club to reach 60% friendship.
Special ability (Free Ride): Call Roman, and he will send a free cab.

Method: Successfully complete all 30 of his vehicle thefts.
Special ability: The South Bohan garage will now offer money for any vehicle you deliver. The better the condition, the more money you will earn.

Free internet
Some of your safehouses have a computer in them that will not charge the $1 fee. The Algonquin safehouse has a laptop in it, and is somewhat far away from some of the internet cafes. This also includes the reception computers in the hotel safehouses, the guy/woman behind the desk might say something because your pushing them out of the way, but will not charge you or get the cops.
Kill your date
Normally, Niko cannot kill his dates, but only "scare" them. When on a date with a girlfriend or boyfriend, have them follow you to any coastline. Swim out into the middle of the ocean. A few yards in the water, Niko's date will instantly die. Note: This glitches the game. If Kate gets killed, her telephone will always be busy when called. Niko will also receive date invitations from dead people labeled as "Unknown Caller".
Damage-proof vehicle
Use the following trick to make any vehicle immune to rockets, grenades, and other weapons. Take out a girlfriend on a date. Get in your car and shoot through your window to do a drive-by to scare her. A short intermission sequence will show your date leaving. Your vehicle is now immune to damage.
Curving rocket
Enable the "Spawn Annihilator police helicopter" code and fly to Middle Park. Land on top of the Capital Building. It is the only building inside Middle Park, and is next to the street. Go to the edge of the building. Take out a rocket launcher and fire it diagonally down towards the middle of the street. If done correctly, the rocket should curve before it hits the ground, then fly straight into the distance. This does not happen with every rocket fired, but always works if you are aiming at the correct location on the street. It appears there is a "sweet spot" on the ground, meaning that there is a precise position you can shoot at that will trigger this glitch easier than some positions. You can actually walk around the building and do this on all of the sides. For some reason instead of continuing down the negative slope and crashing to the ground, the rocket curves before it hits the ground.
Instant stopping in car
While driving a car bring up your cellphone. Enter the menu and highlight "Camera". Press X at any time to go into camera mode and immediately stop, no matter what speed you were traveling. Press Circle to exit camera mode and begin driving again.
Control music volume strip clubs
The volume of the radio stations in the options menu also controls how loud the music is inside strip clubs. You can turn it all the way down to make a club completely silent and watch the ladies dance to nothing.
Run faster
If you are trying to run with a rocket launcher compared to a pistol, chances are the pistol will result in faster movement. If you are trying to run away from anything, try to run with the lightest weapon (or no weapon) if possible.
Lock cinematic view
This can only be done with the fixed camera views that are attached to a vehicle. Change the view to the desired cinematic view. Click the Right Analog-stick and move it Down while still clicked. Release the Right Analog-stick while in the Down + Click position. The view will not change while you remain in cinematic view. The view will also remain locked when you return to it, unless you exit your vehicle or the camera becomes blocked.
After death shooting
Occasionally after your character dies, during the death animation you can cause your currently equipped weapon to fire off. Where it shoots is completely random, and is based upon the direction the gun is pointing as you fall. This effect is most notable if you have a rocket launcher or assault rifle equipped, and you have a greater chance of it happening if your death animation lasts longer (such as from being blown up and flying through the air due to a grenade or other explosive). While you do not get any benefits from this happening, it is satisfying to sometimes kill your attacker after you die. Note: This also works the other way. Sometimes NPCs will shoot you after Niko kills them. It is somewhat rare, but it can happen.
Another way to avoid toll booths
Yes, i know there are lots of ways, but if your not in an emergency vehicle, or not on a bike, and you want a different easy way to avoid paying $5 (rip off, hehe) drive up slow, not too slow, but fast enough that your car will crash through the barrier, but jump out at the last second, and your car will crash through, and you wont be in it to get a police star. Walk over and get in. simple.
Yet another way to avoid paying tolls
Shortly before you reach the barrier, get out, walk past and hi-jack a car on the other side (watch out for police though) and there simple easy done and you (shouldnt) get a police star (providing there arnt any cops around).
Avoiding toll Booth on Foot
You can walk through the toll booth on the bridges instead of paying $5 or ramming through the barricade and not receive a wanted level at all.
Stealing Emergency Vehicles
For some missions you'll need to find a cop car, or you might just want a Cop Car, Ambulance or Fire Engine for fun.
If there are none around (especially with the Ambulance and Fire Engine) you can call 911 and select either Police, Fire Department or Paramedics. Wait for them to arrive and hijack their vehicle.
Suicidal
Find a spot where there are alot of cars and equip a grenade. Hold the fire button as if you were about to drop it on the ground below and start running into the traffic. The grenade will start bleeping and then get prepared for a big explosion. And to die.
Stock up with no cheats
If you're playing the game without cheats remember this:
Always go to a gun shop and buy the latest shotgun with alot of ammo, the latest sub-machine gun (eg.Uzi) with alot of ammo and the latest assault rifle with alot of ammo.
You'll pick up most of the ammo for the Sub-machine gun and pistol on missions.
Always buy armor from there aswell, and visit a hot-dog stand or a fast-food retaurant to fill up on health before starting the next mission.
Money will not be a problem, especially after the bank robbery, "Four Leaf Clover"
Funny TV Channels
Most channels on your television in your safe houses have funny shows like what looks like a funny Halo spoof, and a 'Men's Room'.
Statue of Happiness Shirt
Head over to the Statue of Happiness and climb up as far as you can go. Head around the left side of the statue from where you entered. When you do this, the game will pause briefly and load a new shirt that your character will be wearing, a nice souvenir for visiting the statue!
GTA3 Outfit
Later in the game, you'll be given an option to kill Dwayne or Playboy X. If you kill Playboy X, you can use his loft and change clothes there. Amongst your change of clothes will be the outfit from GTA3 -- a tight black jacket and green cargo pants.
Easy escape from 6 stars
When you have 6 stars, get a helicopter, and fly as high as you can. The police cannot get this high and the guns dont have the range.
The Heart of Liberty City
First, you'll have to have access to Happiness Island. Once you're able to go there legally, find the Helicopter Tours (which is directly east of Happiness Island) and steal a helicopter. Fly to Happiness Island and over the Statue of Liberty, then jump out of the helicopter at the statue's feet. You should land on the topmost tier of the statue, which is basically a square platform with a door in the center of each side. Run around the platform until you see a door with a plaque on either side of it that reads, "No Hidden Content Here." It may seem like you cannot go through the door, but you can-- it doesn't open, you simply walk THROUGH the door. Inside, you'll find an empty room with a tall ladder. Climb it, and when you reach the top, look up; there is a gigantic beating heart, held in place by chains.

Reach the part of the game where Niko and Roman have a safehouse in South Bohan. In the house on the left of the table near the television is a pile of books. The middle purple book of a stack of three is titled "Madness & Blasphemy: The Do's and Dont's". This is an reference to the movie 300 where in the "This is Sparta!" scene, the lines "This is blasphemy! This is madness!" are spoken.
Versus
The numbers on blue armored prison transport truck are KSC-303, which is a reference to the main character of the Japanese film Versus, who is known as Prisoner KSC2-303.
A Revenger's Tragedy
The final mission "A Revenger's Tragedy" is a reference to the play and movie based on the play titled The Revenger's Tragedy.
Grand Theft Auto 3
In the first mission, when you give Roman a ride to a betting shop, on the other side of the road that is a shop called "Mr. Wong's", which is reference to Mr. Wong in Grand Theft Auto 3. Also, there are Furgons in the city.

Watch the Weazel and CNT channels on the television at your hideout. You will see a commercial that uses scenes from Red Dead Revolver, which is another Rockstar game.

In the in-game Internet at a TW@ Internet cafe, visit "www.myonlineme.com" or "www.myonlineme.net" to see a parody of World Of Warcraft. "myonlineme" is shortened to MOM which is WOW (World Of Warcraft) upside down.
The Brown Note
Near Faustin's house is a reference to a legendary musical note. If you are in the area, proceed to the dead end about a block away towards the water. Hop over the fence on your left while facing the water and a man should be sitting on a bench reading a book titled "The Brown Note". Musician's joke that this is a note that when played causes bowel movements by the person playing it.
Cop names
During the intermission sequence for the "I'll Get Her" mission, look closely behind Gerry Mcreary. There is a whiteboard for shift changes for the prison guards. Some of their names are Phil McCrevis (feel my crevice) and Richard Head (dick head).

Avoid toll booths
Use any emergency vehicle, turn on the sirens, and drive (speed does not matter). The booth attendant will open the gate and you will have saved $5.
Calling for backup
Steal a police car and any time you are in trouble press L1 while your car is stationary. Select "Call For Backup" and within minutes you will have to cruisers full of police who will fight on your side unless you shoot someone.
Easy money
Go to an ATM, then cause a traffic jam to the area. Wait for someone to take money from the ATM, then kill him or her. Make sure to block any nearby roads so the ambulance cannot get to the murdered victim. Take the money they dropped on the ground. Then, run a short distance away, and go back. The money should have respawned on the ground. You can repeat this as many times as desired. You can also kill more people taking their money from the ATM to increase the amount of money that respawns.
Bowling: Easy strikes
Select the first lane (all the way to the left). Take two full steps to the left. Hold Right Analog-stick Down for about a half second, then press Right Analog-stick Up. Do not add any aftertouch to the throw.
Regaining health during missions
You can leave the mission area and go to a Cluckin' Bell, hotdog stand, etc, and eat food to replenish your health if you are low and cannot find a health pack. This works effectively on missions where there Are no health packs in sight. Note: You can also take a taxi to those locations during missions.
Easy headshots
It is sometimes difficult to get headshots, which do count in this game. With some practice, the following is an easy way to always get them. Press [Auto-Aim] then use the Right Analog-stick to move the auto-aim target around your victim's body. Barely move the Right Analog-stick as you are shooting. This puts bullets in the chest and head, and results in an easy instant kill.
Current music information
Dial ZIT-555-0100 on your cellphone to get a text message listing the title and artist of the music currently playing.
Prank phone calls
Take note of phone numbers on graffiti or ads on buildings on in the subway. Call those numbers on Niko's cellphone to make a prank phone call.
Getting away from the police
When running away from the cops, you will have a circular area in which they look for you. However, if you get out and another cop sees you, it changes. To use this to your advantage, get barely out of that circle which you will see on your radar. Just sit there for about five seconds instead of flooring past it.
$100 for all ringtones and themes
After acquiring the phone from Playboy X, go to the nearest Internet cafe. Buy all of the ringtones and themes from the ringtones site. Log out of the computer and you will notice that you only paid $100 for all ringtones and themes.
Keeping more cars
At the start of the game it would appear that you can only save two cars parked in the "Residents Parking Only" parking spaces in front of your safe house. However if you can find other "Residents Parking Only" places around the city, you can also save cars there even if you do not have a safe house at those locations yet.
Roadside assistance
If your vehicle breaks down and cannot start, call 911. Your engine should start again.
Staying on trucks
Once you jump on a truck keep tapping the [Jump] and Niko will stay on. Note this does not work all the time, and if he falls he loses a small amount of health.
Fast taxi travel
To avoid wasting time driving all the way across the city, call a taxi. They will take you to your destination for your mission, stores, safehouses, or even a waypoint marker. You can skip through the taxi ride, allowing you to travel across the entire city in about ten seconds. This can also be done during missions.
Cheat The Guys At The Toll Booth
If you happen to be riding a bike before you come up to the toll booth, aim towards the gap in the middle. It leads right behind the 2 guys in the booths, so you won't be seen and you've saved yourself $5! Hooray for the cheapskates!
Swim under city
Go to the north part of the map, just northwest of Butterfly Street in Bohan. Once there, get down to the outskirts of the land and walk towards the corner between the brick wall and the cliff. You can walk through the invisible wall. Lookup towards the city to see the city from below. You can also continue onwards and swim under the city.
Launch up stairs
When walking or running up stairs, jump at the first step to skip or sometimes launch yourself up the stairs.
Dating
You can date people from the in-game Internet. When looking at their profile click "Date". You then have to wait a few in-game days for a negative or positive reply via email. If your date accepts, reply to their email and meet them.
Police database
Use a computer at a TW@ Internet Cafe to go to the Liberty City Police Department site at "www.libertycitypolice.com". Click the "Database" tab at the bottom of the home page to get information on all characters, including Roman and Niko.
Frozen system
If your PlayStation3 freezes when trying to play the game, try the following to fix the problem. Sign out of PlayStation Network either by canceling the sign in process before it can be completed under the Network option on the Cross Media Bar, or going to "Settings", then "Network Settings", then "Internet Connection" and disabling your current connection.
Swim under city
Go to the north part of the map, just northwest of Butterfly Street in Bohan. Once there, get down to the outskirts of the land and walk towards the corner between the brick wall and the cliff. You can walk through the invisible wall. Lookup towards the city to see the city from below. You can also continue onwards and swim under the city.

Get a 100% game completion.
Friend in hospital
If a friend gets run over by an NPC on the way to see you, you will only be able to get his voice mail. A few in-game days later he will call, asking to be picked up from the hospital.
Strip club: Lap dance duet
Go to the strip club and reserve a lap dance. After the performance is done she will ask if you want another, accept twice and she will bring in another girl into the room for a duet.

Funny GPS
Steal a luxury car with a GPS with a female voice. She sometimes makes the "bing bong" notification sound herself while giving directions. For example, "At 100 yards, turn left." At the junction, she would say "bing bong" instead of an actual beep.
Mid-air cars
When in a helicopter, preferably the police one, enable a code to spawn a car. The car will either float in the air motionless, fall at high speeds, or hit your rotor and spin off.
No helmet on motorcycle
Use the following trick to ride a motorcycle without Niko wearing a helmet. Tap the Triangle at any point during the animation where he puts the helmet on, but before the helmet actually appears. Doing this cancels the animation and Niko will not wear his helmet. If you wait too long and press that button after the helmet has appeared in Niko's hand it will still cancel the animation, but the helmet will immediately appear on Niko's head.
Easy 360s
Gain some speed in a car and hold [Handbrake] until you have completed a full 180. Just before you complete the 180, release [Handbrake] and hold [Brake], which will spin you the next 180 degrees. Obviously you will end up facing the direction you were before the attempt. However, some vehicles cannot do this. Also with some vehicles holding [Brake] will spin you back the way you came while using the handbrake, resulting in back-to-back 180s.
Calling emergency vehicles
Dial "911" on your cellphone. You will reach a voice menu that will allow you to call the police by dialing "1", an ambulance by dialing "2", or a fire truck by dialing "3". Select the vehicle of your choice and wait for them to arrive. The will stop and look around for the emergency, allowing you to easily steal their vehicle.
Get inside the Alderny Correctional Facility
Steal a helicopter, and fly over the top of the prison. Land on the basketball courts to avoid getting a wanted level. After entering the prison you can see prisoners talking with each other, eating on the benches, a crazy prisoner, and correctional officers on patrol.
Ratman
Walk in the darkest parts of the subway and you might find someone called "Ratman". When you get close to him he will say said he is Ratman but will then run very fast down the subway. You will not be able to catch up with him.
Karate pedestrian
At the bottom area of Broker is a beach. Continue to the edge nearest to Algonquin to see a pedestrian practicing karate.
Holland Nights: Easy escape path
As you are going up the stairs to chase Clarence, you will see a green health kit. Do not take it. Continue after Clarence and follow the advice of McCleary about not using your weapon until you are on the second floor; otherwise, Clarence will just get into a vehicle and leave. If you wait until you are on the second floor, he will climb to the roof. After you have chosen the Clarence's fate, you automatically have a three star wanted level regardless of what you selected. You must battle your way out. Because you are going down, you have a distinct disadvantage in cover and will take lots of damage. To give yourself an edge, at the start of the mission park a fast car on the street near the opening in the gate. Do not pull up to the gate. Use the stairs to your right to give chase. Once you have gotten to the roof and chosen his fate, descend to the level with the first aid kit (green box). Because you left it there on your way up, you will know what level you are on and can power up. Go to the side of the building where your car is parked and jump over the railing. Upon landing, you will not lose much health. Sprint to your car and get away from the cops. If done correctly, you should not take a single bullet from police. The health pack is a requirement to survive the fall.
Zombie costume
In ranked online multi-player mode, either reach rank 2 or kill a Rockstar employee. Bring up the cellphone menu, select "Multiplayer", then scroll down to "Player model" and select it. Press L1 to access a costume that turns you into a zombie wearing just Rockstar underwear.
Point Break
Play Packie's mission "Three Leaf Clover". While Michael is watching the hostages, one of the men on the floor turns to a man next to him and lets him know that he is a member of a gun club and when the time is right they will fight back. When Michael is distracted, the man stands up, shoots Michael, then in turn is killed by Packie and his brother. This is a reference to the bank heist in the movie Point Break.
Getting tossed by friend
Invite a friend to hang out with you. Gently nudge him with your car, enough to knock him over but not enough to hurt him. After a few times, he will open the car door and throw you out.
Bumping into an officer
When you see a cop on the sidewalk while out in the city, you can push past him like any other pedestrian while walking. However, if you continue to push and pester a cop, even if you do not have a weapon or throw a punch, he will attempt to arrest you.
Desert Eagle
To get the Desert Eagle before you can buy it, kill the gun salesman in Broker that has it equipped and take it from him. Note: Doing this will prevent you from making any future purchases at this location. This will also cause bodyguards with shotguns to chase after you.
M-4 assault rifle
Go to the Easton area on Algonquin. At the Grand Easton Terminal, go up the stairs in front. Keep going around that floor until you see a small pond. Move past it until you see a turn going left. Go to the left to get in between a tall building and a smaller one. At the end of the passageway is a dead end. Turn and you will see a glowing orange garbage can. Behind it is an M-4 assault rifle.
Shotgun
You can get the good shotgun early in the game by simply going to the strip club. On the way out, there is a manager's office that you can enter. There is a large Remington shotgun on the floor you can take.
Sex toys
Pink "vibrators" can be found all through Liberty City. A good place to look would be in the warehouse where the final mission takes place. Search in the little bundles of trash on the ground on the inside of the warehouse. They can be found elsewhere, but this is a good place to look as it is also the starting location of Party mode.

Date SOBOHOE on LoveMeet which can be accessed on any in-game computer. If she says yes, date her until you get lucky. The day after, she will call you and tell you that whenever you need health, all you need to do is call her, seeing she is a nurse, and your health will increase.
Easy Police Car
To easily get a car with a police computer within it, call 911 on your cell phone and select 1, shortly after the operator picks up. It will put you through to the LCPD. Wait until the conversation ends and wait. Police will arrive shortly. The police officer riding as the passenger will get out to inspect the area. While this is happening, pull the driver from the police car and take off. Taking them by surprise will allow you enough time to escape the wanted circle before back-up arrives.
Another easy way to gain access to a car with a police computer is to spawn an FIB Buffalo which is activated by dialing 227-555-0100 into your in-game cell phone. Getting a police car this way will allow you to access a computer without raising your wanted level.
This cheat works great if you're working towards your Most Wanted and Small Crimes award.
Easy Money
Throughout Liberty City, you can sometimes find Securicars. These are green and white coloured vans which transports money to the Bank of liberty City. You are most likely to find one at Acter Industrail Park on Muskteer Avenue. If you see one, get your RPG and blow up the van. all the money which was inside the van will be now on the floor.
Maverick Helicopter
Go to Big Horn Drive in Westdyke. On one side of the road, there 3 massive houses. Go to the backgarden of the middle house, and you will find that there is a Maverick Helicopter there. There is also a Sanchez parked there.
Peform extreme stunts
Get your phone and start the Sixaxis Tutorial. when it starts, end the tutorial. Now you will be in front of Francis International Airport. Do not move from the place you are! If you look behind you, there is a container which says :'' Welcome to Francis International Airport.'' Next to the container, there is a huge pole which has a curved shape. Get a motorbike, and drive against this pole, if you drive fast enough again it, you will be able to perform a backflip.
You can also perform other extreme stunts.
Rastah Color Huntley SUV
When you do all 10 delivery missions for Little Jacob, you will get a Rastah Color Huntley SUV. However, after you done the 10 missions, and you lose the Rastah Color Huntley SUV, there is still a way you can get it. Go to Beechwoodcity where Homebrew cafe and 8Ball is. Look around Tutelo Avenue and the surrounding streets and you are almost gauranteed to find one.
Special friendship bonuses and tips on how

Alex (screen name "LiberatedWoman")
Method: Look for the personal ad from "LiberatedWoman" in the "Women seeking men" section of the "www.craplist.net" website. Alex is somewhat of a self-centered, spoiled rotten rich girl. She will compliment Niko for wearing expensive clothing and driving expensive cars. She will also write about her exploits with Niko in her blog at "www.blogsnobs.org". Reach 80% friendship with her.
Special ability: 50% off at all clothing stores.
Brucie
Method: Take him bowling, drinking, eating, strip clubs, shows, helicopter tours, and boating to reach 70% friendship.
Special ability (Chopper Ride): Call Brucie, and he will fly his helicopter to you. This allows you to fast travel to various portions of the city.
Carmen (screen name "SoboHoe")
Special ability (Health Boost): Restores Niko's health over the phone. She will call Niko every chance she gets.
Dwayne
Method: Take him to strip clubs, eating, drinking, shows, and bowling to reach 60% friendship.
Special ability (Extra Help): Call Dwayne to have a car full of gang members follow you.
Kiki (screen name "LawChick")
Method: Date LawChick via "www.love-meet.net" through the in-game internet. Take her out a few times to reach 75% friendship. When dropping her off, select the "Try your luck" option. Afterwards, she will call you and say she can clear the feds.
Special ability (Remove Up to 3 Wanted Stars): Call her on your cell phone, and select "Clear wanted levels".
Little Jacob
Method: Take him to darts, shows, pool, drinking, eating, and strip clubs to reach 60% friendship.
Special ability (Discount Guns): Call Little Jacob, and he will drive out a car full of guns for you to buy.
Packie
Method: Take him to strip clubs, shows, darts, drinking, bowling, pool to reach 75% friendship.
Special ability (Boom?): Call Packie, and he will make a car bomb for you.
Roman
Method: Take him to bowling, darts, drinking, eating, pool, shows, and the strip club to reach 60% friendship.
Special ability (Free Ride): Call Roman, and he will send a free cab.
Stevie
Method: Successfully complete all 30 of his vehicle thefts.
Special ability: The South Bohan garage will now offer money for any vehicle you deliver. The better the condition, the more money you will earn.

The following is a list of how to get a 100% completion:
• Successfully complete all 90 story and procedural missions to get 68% complete.
• Successfully complete all 30 vehicle thefts to get an aliitional 2%.
• Successfully complete all 50 stunt jumps to get an aliitional 2.5%.
• Collect all 200 pigeons (flying rats) to get an aliitional 2.5%.
• Find all random characters and complete their missions to get an aliitional 5%.
• Successfully complete all 20 vigilante crimes to get an aliitional 2.5%.
• Kill all 30 people on the list to get an aliitional 2.5%.
• Beat friends or computers at every activity to get an aliitional 5%.
• Get all your friend's special abilities and do all their activities to get an aliitional 10%. Note: This does not include Dwayne or Roman.
Free internet
Some of your safehouses have a computer in them that will not charge the $1 fee. The Algonquin safehouse has a laptop in it, and is somewhat far away from some of the internet cafes. This also includes the reception computers in the hotel safehouses, the guy/woman behind the desk might say something because your pushing them out of the way, but will not charge you or get the cops.
Kill your date
Normally, Niko cannot kill his dates, but only "scare" them. When on a date with a girlfriend or boyfriend, have them follow you to any coastline. Swim out into the middle of the ocean. A few yards in the water, Niko's date will instantly die. Note: This glitches the game. If Kate gets killed, her telephone will always be busy when called. Niko will also receive date invitations from dead people labeled as "Unknown Caller".
Damage-proof vehicle
Use the following trick to make any vehicle immune to rockets, grenades, and other weapons. Take out a girlfriend on a date. Get in your car and shoot through your window to do a drive-by to scare her. A short intermission sequence will show your date leaving. Your vehicle is now immune to damage.
Curving rocket
Enable the "Spawn Annihilator police helicopter" code and fly to Middle Park. Land on top of the Capital Building. It is the only building inside Middle Park, and is next to the street. Go to the edge of the building. Take out a rocket launcher and fire it diagonally down towards the middle of the street. If done correctly, the rocket should curve before it hits the ground, then fly straight into the distance. This does not happen with every rocket fired, but always works if you are aiming at the correct location on the street. It appears there is a "sweet spot" on the ground, meaning that there is a precise position you can shoot at that will trigger this glitch easier than some positions. You can actually walk around the building and do this on all of the sides. For some reason instead of continuing down the negative slope and crashing to the ground, the rocket curves before it hits the ground.
Instant stopping in car
While driving a car bring up your cellphone. Enter the menu and highlight "Camera". Press X at any time to go into camera mode and immediately stop, no matter what speed you were traveling. Press Circle to exit camera mode and begin driving again.
Control music volume strip clubs
The volume of the radio stations in the options menu also controls how loud the music is inside strip clubs. You can turn it all the way down to make a club completely silent and watch the ladies dance to nothing.
Run faster
If you are trying to run with a rocket launcher compared to a pistol, chances are the pistol will result in faster movement. If you are trying to run away from anything, try to run with the lightest weapon (or no weapon) if possible.
Lock cinematic view
This can only be done with the fixed camera views that are attached to a vehicle. Change the view to the desired cinematic view. Click the Right Analog-stick and move it Down while still clicked. Release the Right Analog-stick while in the Down + Click position. The view will not change while you remain in cinematic view. The view will also remain locked when you return to it, unless you exit your vehicle or the camera becomes blocked.
After death shooting
Occasionally after your character dies, during the death animation you can cause your currently equipped weapon to fire off. Where it shoots is completely random, and is based upon the direction the gun is pointing as you fall. This effect is most notable if you have a rocket launcher or assault rifle equipped, and you have a greater chance of it happening if your death animation lasts longer (such as from being blown up and flying through the air due to a grenade or other explosive). While you do not get any benefits from this happening, it is satisfying to sometimes kill your attacker after you die. Note: This also works the other way. Sometimes NPCs will shoot you after Niko kills them. It is somewhat rare, but it can happen.
Another way to avoid toll booths
Yes, i know there are lots of ways, but if your not in an emergency vehicle, or not on a bike, and you want a different easy way to avoid paying $5 (rip off, hehe) drive up slow, not too slow, but fast enough that your car will crash through the barrier, but jump out at the last second, and your car will crash through, and you wont be in it to get a police star. Walk over and get in. simple.
Yet another way to avoid paying tolls
Shortly before you reach the barrier, get out, walk past and hi-jack a car on the other side (watch out for police though) and there simple easy done and you (shouldnt) get a police star (providing there arnt any cops around).
Avoiding toll Booth on Foot
You can walk through the toll booth on the bridges instead of paying $5 or ramming through the barricade and not receive a wanted level at all.
Stealing Emergency Vehicles
For some missions you'll need to find a cop car, or you might just want a Cop Car, Ambulance or Fire Engine for fun.
If there are none around (especially with the Ambulance and Fire Engine) you can call 911 and select either Police, Fire Department or Paramedics. Wait for them to arrive and hijack their vehicle.
Suicidal
Find a spot where there are alot of cars and equip a grenade. Hold the fire button as if you were about to drop it on the ground below and start running into the traffic. The grenade will start bleeping and then get prepared for a big explosion. And to die.
Stock up with no cheats
If you're playing the game without cheats remember this:
Always go to a gun shop and buy the latest shotgun with alot of ammo, the latest sub-machine gun (eg.Uzi) with alot of ammo and the latest assault rifle with alot of ammo.
You'll pick up most of the ammo for the Sub-machine gun and pistol on missions.
Always buy armor from there aswell, and visit a hot-dog stand or a fast-food retaurant to fill up on health before starting the next mission.
Money will not be a problem, especially after the bank robbery, "Four Leaf Clover"
Funny TV Channels
Most channels on your television in your safe houses have funny shows like what looks like a funny Halo spoof, and a 'Men's Room'.
Statue of Happiness Shirt
Head over to the Statue of Happiness and climb up as far as you can go. Head around the left side of the statue from where you entered. When you do this, the game will pause briefly and load a new shirt that your character will be wearing, a nice souvenir for visiting the statue!
GTA3 Outfit
Later in the game, you'll be given an option to kill Dwayne or Playboy X. If you kill Playboy X, you can use his loft and change clothes there. Amongst your change of clothes will be the outfit from GTA3 -- a tight black jacket and green cargo pants.
Easy escape from 6 stars
When you have 6 stars, get a helicopter, and fly as high as you can. The police cannot get this high and the guns dont have the range.
The Heart of Liberty City
First, you'll have to have access to Happiness Island. Once you're able to go there legally, find the Helicopter Tours (which is directly east of Happiness Island) and steal a helicopter. Fly to Happiness Island and over the Statue of Liberty, then jump out of the helicopter at the statue's feet. You should land on the topmost tier of the statue, which is basically a square platform with a door in the center of each side. Run around the platform until you see a door with a plaque on either side of it that reads, "No Hidden Content Here." It may seem like you cannot go through the door, but you can-- it doesn't open, you simply walk THROUGH the door. Inside, you'll find an empty room with a tall ladder. Climb it, and when you reach the top, look up; there is a gigantic beating heart, held in place by chains.

Reach the part of the game where Niko and Roman have a safehouse in South Bohan. In the house on the left of the table near the television is a pile of books. The middle purple book of a stack of three is titled "Madness & Blasphemy: The Do's and Dont's". This is an reference to the movie 300 where in the "This is Sparta!" scene, the lines "This is blasphemy! This is madness!" are spoken.
Versus
The numbers on blue armored prison transport truck are KSC-303, which is a reference to the main character of the Japanese film Versus, who is known as Prisoner KSC2-303.
A Revenger's Tragedy
The final mission "A Revenger's Tragedy" is a reference to the play and movie based on the play titled The Revenger's Tragedy.
Grand Theft Auto 3
In the first mission, when you give Roman a ride to a betting shop, on the other side of the road that is a shop called "Mr. Wong's", which is reference to Mr. Wong in Grand Theft Auto 3. Also, there are Furgons in the city.
Red Dead Revolver
Watch the Weazel and CNT channels on the television at your hideout. You will see a commercial that uses scenes from Red Dead Revolver, which is another Rockstar game.
World Of Warcraft
In the in-game Internet at a TW@ Internet cafe, visit "www.myonlineme.com" or "www.myonlineme.net" to see a parody of World Of Warcraft. "myonlineme" is shortened to MOM which is WOW (World Of Warcraft) upside down.
The Brown Note
Near Faustin's house is a reference to a legendary musical note. If you are in the area, proceed to the dead end about a block away towards the water. Hop over the fence on your left while facing the water and a man should be sitting on a bench reading a book titled "The Brown Note". Musician's joke that this is a note that when played causes bowel movements by the person playing it.
Cop names
During the intermission sequence for the "I'll Get Her" mission, look closely behind Gerry Mcreary. There is a whiteboard for shift changes for the prison guards. Some of their names are Phil McCrevis (feel my crevice) and Richard Head (dick head).
Bowling alley logo
During the bowling date with Michelle, when you enter the bowling alley notice the neon bowling alley sign. Look closely to see that it resembles male genitalia.

In the south east area of bohan there should be a playground.
If you go to the swings on foot and grab on to the beam and stay there a few seconds then it should suddenley "fling" you across town and most of the time you strangley dont die.

For the executions that require you to press R1, your enemy must be low enough on health for it to work. Only performing the execution styles on mobsters will count toward the execution achievements.
1. Back Of The Head execution: Using a pistol, stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1.
2. Barehanded Kneeling execution: Get your enemy on their knees by shooting them in the knee or beating them down. Then, without any weapons drawn, stand in front of your enemy. While they are still kneeling, lock onto them and press R1.
3. Barehanded Standing execution: Without any weapons drawn, stand in front of your enemy. While they are standing, lock onto them and press R1.

Tattaglias compound
When you think you are ready for the challenge, take on a compound. The Tattaglias in northeast Brooklyn might be the weakest family in New York, but that does not mean they are going to let you walk right in. Bring some bombs along and blow up the support pillars in the basements. You may start a mob war, but if you are successful you will have a new safe house with a group of guards.
Marlon Brando's last appearance
Play the mission when you go to the hospital to protect the Don. After you kill the first assassin and Michael Corleone tells you to go to the basement, go foward and make a left. You should see a door with Michael Corleone talking to Vito Corleone while he is in the hospital bed. Listen to the conversation carefully. This is the real Marlo Brando talking, recorded while he was hospitalized.
Easy special kills
On missions where you have to kill an important figure in a certain way (such as pushing them off a roof or into a furnace), you can do this easier by luring your opponent over the hazard you must use to kill them before fighting with them. Just avoid them and run over to the hazard. They will come over to you. Beat them up a bit but do not kill them completely. Then, grab them by holding L1 + R1, and swing them so they have their back to the hazard. Then, push forward with the Analog-sticks to shove them to their death.
Shooting enemies behind cover
When you are locked onto an enemy who is hiding behind a crate or low object, keep locking on but use the Right Analog-stick to move the crosshair to a part of their body that is sometimes sticking out, like their head or arm. This will help you kill them easier.
Ammunition
All the safe houses that you pay for have ammo caches. When low on ammunition or health, you can go into these houses and restock. They are the orange houses on the map, and most are in hotels.
Recommended weapons
Do not waste money on safe houses. You can make it fine with just the ones you get in the story. Instead, save money for clothing and weapons. All the best weapons cost a lot but are well worth it. The Saturday Night Special is a better revolver and it will cost $75,000. The Assassin's Pistol is better gun and costs about $200,000. The Python a better magnum will cost $250,000. The Dillinger is a machine gun that costs $450,000. Finally, the Street Sweeper, which works like a shotgun, sells for $500,000 and will kill most people in one shot.
Losing police quickly
If you commit a lot of damage and kill a lot of people, you will get wanted stars. If you get enough stars, the police will chase and shoot you. To lose them, just move to a different area. All of your stars will immediately go away.
Easy money
Visit the sewer system. The entrance is directly south of the westernmost Tattaglia warehouse on the Hell's Kitchen Loop. Prepare for a battle. The crate containing the money you are after is guarded by a group of heavily armed bell-boys.
Car chases
When you are being pursued by enemies in a car, let them drive up on your side. Usually they will come up near your rear on your left or right. Then, look ahead and lure them into an accident. Usually they will smash into something like oncoming traffic or a wall if you time it correctly. They will eventually come back and catch up to you, but if you keep doing this you can get them to blow themselves up (because you cannot shoot out your car at them).
Barricades
Use the following trick when you go to a hub, warehouse, or compound with people and cars blocking your way. Get a truck and run into the cars and people until it catches on fire. Then, finish off the other people that are still alive.
Taking over compounds
To take over a compound, equip your self with ammunition for all your guns, or you can use one powerful gun to kill other gangsters and take their gun. You must have cover at any time possible. Note: When behind the bushes to the left of the entrance they can shoot you through the bushes. Once inside, do the same thing and always have cover. Then, run downstairs. In the back house there are two men. One is behind a box and there is another behind a pilaer. After those two are dead, set the time bomb (not dynamite). If needed, stay in the basement and die, then drive back and repeat on the other house.
"The Don Is Dead" mission
Break the windows in the barber shop before start the mission. This will allow for easy shooting once the Don is shot. The recommended gun for this and any other close range shooting mission is the magnum.
"The Alley" mission: Easy money
After completing the mission getting the your first gun down the alley to your left, go back to the alley you beat the thugs up at. Shoot the crate. It will have $1,000 inside.

Tattaglias compound
When you think you are ready for the challenge, take on a compound. The Tattaglias in northeast Brooklyn might be the weakest family in New York, but that does not mean they are going to let you walk right in. Bring some bombs along and blow up the support pillars in the basements. You may start a mob war, but if you are successful you will have a new safe house with a group of guards.
Marlon Brando's last appearance
Play the mission when you go to the hospital to protect the Don. After you kill the first assassin and Michael Corleone tells you to go to the basement, go foward and make a left. You should see a door with Michael Corleone talking to Vito Corleone while he is in the hospital bed. Listen to the conversation carefully. This is the real Marlo Brando talking, recorded while he was hospitalized.
Easy special kills
On missions where you have to kill an important figure in a certain way (such as pushing them off a roof or into a furnace), you can do this easier by luring your opponent over the hazard you must use to kill them before fighting with them. Just avoid them and run over to the hazard. They will come over to you. Beat them up a bit but do not kill them completely. Then, grab them by holding L1 + R1, and swing them so they have their back to the hazard. Then, push forward with the Analog-sticks to shove them to their death.
Shooting enemies behind cover
When you are locked onto an enemy who is hiding behind a crate or low object, keep locking on but use the Right Analog-stick to move the crosshair to a part of their body that is sometimes sticking out, like their head or arm. This will help you kill them easier.
Ammunition
All the safe houses that you pay for have ammo caches. When low on ammunition or health, you can go into these houses and restock. They are the orange houses on the map, and most are in hotels.
Recommended weapons
Do not waste money on safe houses. You can make it fine with just the ones you get in the story. Instead, save money for clothing and weapons. All the best weapons cost a lot but are well worth it. The Saturday Night Special is a better revolver and it will cost $75,000. The Assassin's Pistol is better gun and costs about $200,000. The Python a better magnum will cost $250,000. The Dillinger is a machine gun that costs $450,000. Finally, the Street Sweeper, which works like a shotgun, sells for $500,000 and will kill most people in one shot.
Losing police quickly
If you commit a lot of damage and kill a lot of people, you will get wanted stars. If you get enough stars, the police will chase and shoot you. To lose them, just move to a different area. All of your stars will immediately go away.
Easy money
Visit the sewer system. The entrance is directly south of the westernmost Tattaglia warehouse on the Hell's Kitchen Loop. Prepare for a battle. The crate containing the money you are after is guarded by a group of heavily armed bell-boys.
Car chases
When you are being pursued by enemies in a car, let them drive up on your side. Usually they will come up near your rear on your left or right. Then, look ahead and lure them into an accident. Usually they will smash into something like oncoming traffic or a wall if you time it correctly. They will eventually come back and catch up to you, but if you keep doing this you can get them to blow themselves up (because you cannot shoot out your car at them).
Barricades
Use the following trick when you go to a hub, warehouse, or compound with people and cars blocking your way. Get a truck and run into the cars and people until it catches on fire. Then, finish off the other people that are still alive.
Taking over compounds
To take over a compound, equip your self with ammunition for all your guns, or you can use one powerful gun to kill other gangsters and take their gun. You must have cover at any time possible. Note: When behind the bushes to the left of the entrance they can shoot you through the bushes. Once inside, do the same thing and always have cover. Then, run downstairs. In the back house there are two men. One is behind a box and there is another behind a pilaer. After those two are dead, set the time bomb (not dynamite). If needed, stay in the basement and die, then drive back and repeat on the other house.
"The Don Is Dead" mission
Break the windows in the barber shop before start the mission. This will allow for easy shooting once the Don is shot. The recommended gun for this and any other close range shooting mission is the magnum.
"The Alley" mission: Easy money
After completing the mission getting the your first gun down the alley to your left, go back to the alley you beat the thugs up at. Shoot the crate. It will have $1,000 inside.
Tattaglias compound

Start a new game on whatever difficulty you were on during the Combat Arena. You will begin the game with all weapons maxed out and infinite magic.

This is a reference to the fan made Ghostbusters movies "Freddy Vs. Ghostbusters" and "The Return of The Ghostbusters", where Egon's nephew Ed Spengler creates the Denver Ghostbusters.
Easy Nice Shootin' Tex Achievement/Trophy
This exploit requires both a hard drive and a memory card to perform. This Achievement/Trophy requires you to beat the game with less than $100,000 in damage, no small feat. Have at least one completed game on the hard drive and start a new game using the memory card. Get to the first real mission (not the training one), then save and quit. Now, load up your hard drive save file and go to the final boss fight. Go into the options menu and go to the gameplay option and change the memory setting to the memory card save. Finish off the boss and the Achievement / Trophy is yours.
Fountain Locations
Fountain 1: At the firehouse. You only need to drink from this fountain once (even though you revisit the firehouse many times).
Fountain 2: At soon as you enter the Sedgewick Hotel, the soda machine room to your right.
Fountain 3: After the water drains from the hallway (at the Sedgewick) but before you reach the Sargassi Lounge, check the corner of the elevator lobby for the fountain.
Fountain 4: In the laundromat Zeddemore breaks into at Times Square. It'll be by the cursed artifact, pushing bone - in the back room - so to speak.
Fountain 5: After the cut-scene of Hoss and Stanz and the two office workers in the elevator at Times Square, you will be at the architectural office. The fountain is at the corner of the hall.
Fountain 6: Public Library. The hallway leading to the juvenile reading room will have this water fountain.
Fountain 7: After the Egyptian and Mummification exhibits at the Museum, Venkman will spring out to surprise Hoss and Zeddemore in a maintenance hallway. The fountain is there, right next to the Azatoth Head artifact.
Fountain 8: When revisiting the Sedgewick, you need to turn the power back on at the generator room. The fountain is in the generator room.
